Default Where's the dipstick?

Ok, so every picture I've seen of an engine in the B8 is missing a dipstick. I hope they didn't go the way of BMW and use only an electronic dipstick. They're error prone and you can't check the "health" of the oil.

Default Yea, you're probably right....

Altho, I just found a dipstick in the S5's V8 engine.

I have no problem with the e-dip if they want to stuff that in the car. I just wish they wouldn't replace the conventional dipstick.

Default Right, I was saying that I only see it on the S5's V8 not the A4 engines.

Default Check again. The 2.0 and 3.2 both have dipsticks.

Default how do you check the "health" of the oil by the dipstick? taste?

you can't tell by its color. we've discussed this around our forums and elsewhere for years.

*maybe* some people could tell its viscosity to a small degree by feel between fingers, but i highly doubt it.

1. Color -- even tho I know color is not a good indication.

2. Feel -- is the oil still slick.

Default Ok, can't find pictures of the 2.0 but here's two of the 3.2. Can you point out the dipstick?
