Default Just got back from my ED last night

I just dropped off my S5 in Frankfurt Thursday. We did our very best at contributing to the european economy. Had an absolute blast. I don't know how I'll ever be able to adjust to US speed limits. The GPS was an absolute life saver. Without it I'd be divorced by now. I'll post some pictures after I get things sorted out.

Default Congrats! Questions for you . . .

I placed my order for ED of an S5 a couple of weeks ago. Greatly looking forward to driving it on the Autobahn! How long after you ordered yours did you receive your confirmation? How long after that was your car ready? Did you spend more than 1 night in Ingolstadt? Where did you drop off at and how was that experience? Where did you visit? And any other recommendations or advice that you are willing to share would be welcome. Again, congratulations and I look forward to seeing your photos.

Default Re: Congrats! Questions for you . . .

It took about one year from the time I put down my deposit to the time I got a build date. The car was actually ready to pickup 4 weeks after the build date. We only spent one night in Ingolstadt. From there we headed to Austria via the Alpine high road (a must). The first 1000 km was painful (3000 rpm limit), but after that I set the cruise control to 125 and headed to Paris. I only saw one cop hiding in the bushes, but it remains to be seen how many speeding tickets I get from the speed cameras. I put a total of 2100 miles on the car in 15 days. It was well worth the price of admission. The Audi factory is unbelievable. We'll be going back next summer to pickup a TTS.

Default How does Audi's GPS loaner work?

Do you leave it with the car when you drop it off, or do you have to return it back to the Audi Forum?

Tell Kathy Bis you need a GPS and pick it up at the Audi Forum. They take it back when you drop off the car, and that's that.

Default The Garmin they gave me didn't know the difference between...

a road and a bicycle path. I'm just hoping no one saw me.

Default Awesome! I plan to do this for my next car- Neurburgring, here we come!

I was in Ingolstadt while in the Army. Bought a used A80S there and have been in love since. 4 Audis later, I am looking forward to ED and a 10th Anniversary trip!
