Does the stock Bose audio system have a subwoofer? Where? What size?

Yes, the size of a thimble.. Here's the thing, Blowes uses mid-frequency boosts to "improve" the
impression of bass and low frequency. This is common in cheap speakers.
The best speakers and audio setups do not do this. Cars are a hard thing to make sound right, I am not experienced about their acoustics, but as a home audio and video enthusiast with a mid-level to high end system, I believe I've heard better in a Buick Le Sabre and I'm not kidding.

Can you bypass the stereo and install amp and sub, etc with seperate amp, ect??
(while using your head uint)? Also, what about hardwiring ipod or MP3? Do you have to go the phatnoise route? Anyone? Thanks.

A wealth of information inside, complete with MMI options.
I also today downloaded about 900 songs to a couple of SD cards and used them in my SD card slots. No need for an IPod at all, after all.

gain on the amp is only .25 up. It really seems to allow the Bose speakers to work on what they are good at, midrange and highs. The sub is removable with quick disconnects and Velcro so I can take it out if need be. The amp is only 200w but the sub has a low level of resistance so the amp can push it like a 400w amp. I set this up for my ears not to blast any cars around me, like some punk kids do. It now sounds as good as my system in the house; I love it! :-)

http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/108562/sub.jpg</a
