Default Dilemma: track the 19" stockers or go to some light 18" track wheels...

If I were to track the stockers, I'd get a different set of wheels (also in 19") to use with unabused street tires. However, going the 18" route for track use will not only have more potential for weight savings, but also opens up more tire options, not to mention R-compound would be more readily available... that is if there are even any 18" wheels that will clear the brakes that are not heavy audi oem's.

Default I would get a set of track wheels and keep the stockers for street.

There should be a set of lightweight 18's that will do the job, but will have to make sure the offset will clear the brakes, as you mention.

Getting a lighter, stronger wheel that you don't care if they get hard use at the track is the way to go - and like you said, 18's give more tire selection....that's what i'm gonna do with either an RS4 or E90 M3 - i just gotta make up my mind on the car...!

Default I guess it depends whether you like the stock wheels or not.

if you like them, keep for street and buy 18's for track. if you don't like them, use them for the track. I'm assuming you're not planning any *competitive* track events, in which case lightest possible would be best.

if you keep the 19's for track, the Pirelli Corsas are of course a readily available tire option....and you can drive those to and from the track, if you want.

Default Are Corsas an option we can actually order? My dealer says he can't get them.

Default Not through a US dealer, but...

They can be ordered just like ROW parts.

Default That's not bad considering they're 19" audi oem. Early press info mentioned they were forged...

anyone know if the ones we actually have in our cars are?

Default Uhm, what's ROW? Does that mean I can get the car delivered with them on already?
