Default This article says 0-62 time for 09 TTQ coupe DSG is 6.2 seconds - or .2 sec. faster than the FWD DSG

This squares with my earlier observation that the 09 TT Q DSG is a bit lighter than the 08 FWD 2.0 despite the additional mechanics...or maybe its mostly the better grip.

2009 TT 2.0 Quattro w/DSG = 2,899 lbs
2008 TT 2.0 FWD w/DSG = 2,965 lbs

Highways mpg for the Quattro is 29 versus the FWD's 31.

Default It's 6.2 0-62 (100KPH).....so quicker to 60. How is the FWD actually heavier than Quattro?

Default Car and Drive tested the 2.0 FWD 0-60 in 6.0, 1/4th in 14.6 @ 97... lighter weight is a few things..

1) The new generation 2.0T (ccta) is a bit ligher than the previous 2.0T(BPY)

2) Option packages are now a bit different. the 2965 figure is with the premium package and 18" wheels. A FWD without the power seats/options and ligher 17s may shave a significant amount of weight. Haldex is heavy though so not quite sure how accurate that figure is.

Stock for stock I wouldn't expect the 2.0Q to be much quicker than a FWD only because the FWD doesn't smoke the tirs that bad when stock.

Now if you tune it it's a completely different story....

Default I know you are debating 2.0T vs 3.2. If you plan on tuning check out this article...

Absolute values will be different since the TT is lighter but comparisons should be valid. The long and short of it is a tuned GTI is much quicker(even to 60!) than the r32. R32 is much better around the track because of the AWD. One could conclude that a chipped 2.0Q will smash the v6 in both areas.

Default In addition to the lighter engine some earlier posts claimed more aluminum and a lighter Haldex unit

Default The article also says the quattro system is upgraded, borrowing parts from the TTS...

I wonder if the 3.2 also has the upgrade...

"At the heart of the quattro system is an electronically controlled and hydraulically operated multi-plate clutch, which now works faster than ever thanks to a new pressure reservoir borrowed from the TTS. If required, all of the drive force can be redirected from the front to the rear wheels within a matter of milliseconds."
