Default Not bad!

I only had an hour to talk to them, and take the shots. And included in that was cleaning up little details in the salon that weren't "photogenic". The lighting was terrible in one corner...I did the best I could, but I should have manually metered there, as sunlight was pouring in the front of the place and bouncing off the mirrors underexposing my shots.

The mirrors were a PITA. I did a walk around to pick out my vantage points, honestly, there were less than 10 throughout. Everywhere else, either the camera would get caught in the mirror, or some other undesirable.

I wanted to use the flashes, but I didn't have the time to set them up and then experiment to get the right lighting. I left them in the bag in case I had time at the end to play with flash shots, but after an hour, both my friend and his wife were losing patience thinking they had all the shots they wanted...and I was late for another engagement as well. Also, I had really intended to use them if we did any kind of modeling (in the chair), but that's not what his wife had in mind. In fact when I asked her to sit at the front desk and smile as if she was welcoming a patron, she objected to being photographed. I didn't want to say it (since she was already against it), but taking pictures of just a space isn't how you want to promote a salon. I really think she should have asked the staff to come in for a group portrait, and done a few in-chair shots. It's not my place to say...especially if there was nothing we could do about it at the time (a week earlier I did plant a seed with my friend, so I guess she already considered the idea but decided against it for whatever reason).

I'll give you a call today about getting your flash back to you. I'd love to keep it and play, but I just lent out my equipment to someone else, so I have nothing to use it with! :-P Thanks for offering it up though!

Default It's okay, you can keep the flash for as long as you like

better yet, send it to me. TRM should be concentrating on PEB's marketing effort, not playing with flashes

Default Too many engineers in the kitchen...not enough hairdryers to go around.
