Maybe just a slave flash behind a diffuser to light up that side like you said. Otherwise, looks fine.

car. Came out nice....but it revealed someone in the drivers seat with a goofy look
You can probaby remove him and still save the shot.

I'm not sure how CS2's HDR feature works, but if you shot in raw, you could possibly create a couple versions of each pic with varying levels of exposure and process them in CS2. Like I said, I'm not sure how the tool works yet, but it might be worth looking into.
Aside from that, #3 and #4 are probably my picks. Not a fan of the angle in #1, and #2 had my tugging the scrollbar to go left...until I realized that's how you intended to compose it! :-P
