Default Worst Q7 week EVER!

So earlier in the week, the EPC light came on the Q7 while I was driving on the highway (I wrote about the entire experience in an earlier post from Wednesday). Couldn't get an appointment with Audi service till monday morning, so I put it in the garage. Got home after work tonight and needed to get some food, so took it out and drove slowly in Tiptronic mode. Got home, and now the key is stuck in the ignition! What the heck?!?!? Tried everything to get it out. Nothing worked. Key isnt bent or anything. Called Audi Roadside and they got me in touch with the only Audi dealership still open in America - Hawaii. Tried a couple things and nada. Best they could offer was to have me leave the Q7 in my garage with the key in the ignition until monday. Thanks Audi... roadside assistance has been awesome yet again. Funny thing... just broke 10k miles on the Q7 on Tuesday night. Once we crossed the 10k mark, the entire car seems to have crapped out on me. Aye.

Default Do you guys have the US version? Mine doesnt have that hole...

From your pic, it looks like your steering wheel is on the right side of the car. I check and double checked on mine... no hole to release the key. As of now, the key is still stuck, the EPC light is still on and the car is in the garage. Monday morning can't get here fast enough.

Yup, checked the manual. Nothing in there about releasing a key stuck in the ignition. Audi Roadside Service said that most likely, the key is locked in there due to some malfunction.

Default Shoulda called roadside on Wednesday -->

That would have gotten the car to the dealer and you with a courtesy car. The car is not drivable, why did you choose to take it out again?

Just assumming, you were able to go to work so other means of transport are available?

And yes, the US spec car does not have the key release hole.

If your EPC light is on and the battery isn't already dead, you should get it on a charger. It won't last until Monday.

Your earlier symptom indicates a linkage issue, combined with the lack of key release enhances that. You could try some creative shift lever movement to see if you can find teh spot that will release the key. But obviously you have no control over the transmission. Make sure that the roadside assistance shows up with a flatbed.

The reason why I didn't get roadside to tow it on wednesday is because I was no where near home, with my pregnant wife and dog. As I mentioned, I was able to get it back home in tiptronic, so I was glad for that. The reason why it didn't go to audi service between then and monday is because the Audi dealer I go to blows. Anyone requiring ANY kind of service must make an appointment. The earliest appointment they had available was monday morning. Plus, they got rid of their fleet of loaner cars 2 years ago. All they offer now is a shuttle service to the closest bus or train station. Yes, Life Quality Audi does SUCK BIG TIME!

Guess you are in Brooklyn Area? I went there to purchase a 07 4.2 Premium S-Line before.. they gave me a great price and I signed the sales order right away and put down the deposit... But they couldn't delivered and gave me some excuses saying my credit is not good (FYI, my credit score is excellent) or they couldn't "fight" for the car

So now, I own a 08 4.2 Premium non-S-Line from Biener. Though I pay about the same for a less featured car, but I'm happy with it and their sales. Not sure about their service department yet as I haven't bring it in. But they did promise me a loaner whenever I bring my car in for service.

Default IIRC, VW/Audi removed that emergency release from later model cars in the US.

For example, our '04 Touareg had it, but the '06(?) and '07 ones did not.
