Default Bluetooth problem

It isn't there any more :-(

It failed a couple of months ago and I my phone can't find any bluetooth device to pair with. Its not a problem with my phone because it works with all other bluetooth devices including my Jasjar ppc and the Garmin Nuvii in my Land Cruiser.
Also it went into the dealer today for its first service at 16,000 miles. The dealer tried to pair it with a couple of phones and failed. They even tried with another Nokia 6300 like mine. It seems that the bluetooth on the car is switched off or otherwise failed. They stood around and scratched their heads for a while but had no answers.
Can anyone here help?

The phone module has been faulty in many Q7s. Edmunds' test car also had the same problem. Tell them to replace the BT module.

Default Maybe that's the source of my problem

For the last week or so I'm told it can't find the phone when I tried to place a call. It's been low enough priority for me so I thought I'd look at it more seriously at some point in the next week or two after the 5 second attempt didn't remedy the problem. Maybe it isn't a simple pairing problem...

Ok try this, go into the TELE, delete all devices. Reset to factory defaults. Delete the Audi device, if still in your phone. Turn the car off. Open the door. Turn your phone off. Restart the car. Turn your phone back on. Attempt pairing process again. If it's still F*@king up then see your dealer to have the module replaced.

Default Re: Bluetooth problem

...my two cents of contribute
I can guarantee Nokia 6300 and Audi Nluetooth work perfectly as i experienced for the last six months (not the same for many other newer nokia phones)

Just to put a fine point on the manual and what AofC_RR said:

Max of 4 cell phones can be linked...if you initialize a 5th , the oldest unused phone gets bumped.

Car must be stationary...which is good when turning off the car and opening the door. Turn off your phone/bluetooth. Make sure no other phones are nearby/connected. Open the door, place key in ignition and switch ON. With in 5 minutes (or less) turn on phone, activate its Bluetooth if necessary, and activate the FIND ME mode or whatever your phone calls it.

If no love...see dealer service again.

Good luck...when I took delivery the guys in sales couldn't make it work. Service guy walked out, pulled the key shut the door, opened the door, fired her up. I put my phone through the paces and all was great.

Default Luckily this wasn't the problem I had

Last night I had to program the Homelink system for my new garage door opener. As long as I was doing that I decided to look at the phone issue. Since I had just read your instructions a little bit earlier, I leapt right in and deleted the pairings and started over. After I re-paired, everything was working fine. I meant to try to force a connection from the phone first, but by the time I remembered about that I had already deleted the pairings.

Thanks for the detailed instructions, though I did not turn off the phone/open the door/etc.I would have progressed to them had the initial attempt not worked. The only snag I ran into is the phone could not find the car at first when I tried to re-pair. I then realized the key had been in the ON position for a while since I had done the Homelink work first. When I shut it off, pulled the key, and then turned it back on, the phone found it right away.

You may also want to put the new software on your phone itself. Check what software it has, then check the Audi site with the phones mentioned and the software tested. I had initially a problem with my Nokia 6300, upgraded the phone software and then it worked fine.

Default Nokia 6300

The Audi list shows that Nokia 6300 will work with Nokia software 5.0.

Check your phone software.I had version 4.2 and believe there is also version 4.7.

Enter into your mobile Nokia6300 *#0000# and it will show you the software version you have on your mobile. Update the software with Nokia PC suite to 5.0 and you will not have an issue again. Mine works perfect ever since...

Default still on the Nokia 6300

sorry for the necroposting, but does this phone unlock all the handsfree option on the mmi? like call list, contact phone, sms?
actually I've an n95 8gb paired but I can only manage to have the contact list uploaded to the car trough a little program from nokia. otherwise , it has just basic functionality like call in&out.

I'm into buying the phone adapter for the 6300 and the phone itself.
does the phone adapter function just as a charger or what? does it interface with the module in some way?
thanks
William
