Default VAG'd the Q for Battery Level and it works great.

Simply add 32 to the value already there on channel 2 (for me this was adding 32 to 3 for a total of 35) and viola, Battery Level appears in the MMI.

Default Excellent! Did you use these instructions? or something different?

"Select 07 - Display/control unit and add 32 to the adaptation value of adaptation channel 2. The battery charge status will then be displayed again."

Default What is the VAG stuff .......

This might be a silly question, but what is the VAG thing you all have been talking about. I had power programmer for my Suburban and it sounds like something that allows you to make custom adjustments to the Q7. Is that true and where can I get one

Default Re: Thanks very much!!!

I just looked in my Q - it shows the battery level when I go into CAR - it is an option. It is a bar graph showing from zero to 100. Am I missing anything or are we in different markets? I am in the US...

Default Nope, you're not missing anything. Some MMI updates will disable this functionality

(intentionally or not). There are some TSBs for the A6 and A8 that contain information about how to re-enable battery display. The original thread about this is here ---> http://forums.audiworld.com/q7/msgs/12822.phtml

Default You're correct, but the VAG-COM can do quite a bit more.

On the surface, it can be used as a simple scanning tool, pulling and clearing fault codes (e.g. helping to answer questions like, "why is my check engine light on"). It can also be used for recoding various modules to change their behavior, and it can be used as a replacement for most (all?) of the functionality offered by factory scan tools.

You can find lots more information about it on the Ross-Tech website --> http://www.ross-tech.com.

Default My 4.2 S-Line built in October did not have the battery enabled in the MMI so I put it back.
