Default Picking Up New Q7 on Tuesday Night--Need Help, Please!!

We ordered a new Q7 with the following spec's from International Autos in Milwaukee, WI. It is a 4.2 Premium Lava Grey Pearl Effect w/ Black Interior, Adaptive Air Suspension, Towing Package, 7 Seat Configuration, Audi Side Assist, Wood Steering Wheel / Shift Knob, 20" 5 Double Spoke Wheels w/ Continental Tires All Season, and Sirius Satellite Radio. I paid extra for a flat bed to go to the port and pick up just this unit to bring to Milwaukee. We just got news that the car will be delivered to us on Tuesday, November 14th.

Sorry about the long, drawn out history, but I wanted everyone to have a brief background on us. My wife and I always owned American cars until four years ago when we started buying Acura models. We are trading in our 2005 Acura RL on the Q7. We felt that the Audi was much superior to the 2007 Acura MDX and quite a bit roomier & powerful (4.2L-V8 vs 3.7L-V6).

I have three questions for my fellow Q7 brothers and sisters. First what do I have to pay attention to at time of delivery? What are common problems on the 4.2 Premium? Second, is there an option aftermarket or an Audi option for 20" Chrome Rims? Third, what accessories are everyone adding to their Q7's? I already am going for the Ipod Adapter, Winter Mats, and rear cargo mat. I am not a real fan of the unfinished look of the mud guards. Let's hear from all the owners here? Thank You!

I picked mine up on Friday evening. The dealer gave me a lot of time in which they matched my phone and transferred the phonebook and generally showed me how things worked.

I was surprised that it was not fitted with mudflaps as standard and can now confirm that it really does need them. My dealer has informed me that they cost ?200! I can get a good quality automatic washing machine the money they want for four pieces of rubber.

I agree with you on the mudflaps. Furthermore, they are a very rough finish and take away from the classy look of the Q7. I wish Audi or the aftermarket offered a finished and painted to match your trim color option for the mudflaps. I guess enough of us have to scream for the manufacturers to take notice. Thanks for your reply.

I have had my Q7 for about 3 weeks and so far I have not had any issues. I have added the mats and will be adding TVs to the headrest which the dealer is installing next week.

What TV head rest package are you going with? Do you have any kids? If so ages? Which dealer did you buy the rear seat entertainment system from? I am very interested in your follow up comments on the TV's after you had a chance to enjoy them. My email is alex.sr@mackiel.com .
Thanks,
