how big of a problem is a blown gasket

I belive i blew a gasket somewhere, long story short, had an episode of huge black cloud os smoke, at high rpms now its in the shop...

Just want to know If i am going to have issues for a while, even if i did blow the gaskett somewheres...

its a pretty good problem, they have to take the heads off which is probably a pretty good ordeal. Black smoke probably means you have oil spilling in with the fuel, so maybe blown rings? but I am thinking one way or another it could be a bad problem.
