Default Collapsed breather pipe - Repair Kit- Junkyard

My 90Q20V was suffering from the usual crankcase breather pipe collapse. 20V.org directed me to a repair kit, complete with Audi part number. It mentions to be sure to get the small connecting hoses and gives their part numbers.

Well, several years back, I had the same problem with a '90 100. Without knowing anything about repair kits, I noticed a junkyard Audi had a metal hose and just switched.

The other day I was in a JY and noticed a '91 100 with a stripped sown engine compartment. The metal hose was visible so I grabbed it. There was no part number on it, but the hoses had numbers. I compared those numbers to the 20V write up and found they were the same as the "repair kit".

Well, the short is that it went right on my 20V, in about 1/2 an hour (I have long fingers). I guess the "repair kit" became a regular production item in '91.

Interestingly, the '91 piece has a capped off port, no idea what that could be for.

Just bought the breather kit (audi dealer $40.00) and installed, but no clue about the capped off port as my original was the rubber hose (collapsed) without any extra port coming off of it. (1991 100)
