Default Paging Imolavirus....

Can you help me understand? I looks like you know this stuff better than the average driver thinks he does (like me)
Thanks,Paul

In a stock situation like our 2.7T what do you consider to be the safe output of the KO3?

Would you call this figure 100% of the charger's capability?

My reason is that some ECU Tuners are trying to move away from quoting PSI or the Bar output and use the % of turbo instead. I will agree that the % of turbo is understandable, but without knowing its stock 100% (benchmark?) It doesn't have any mean.

IE: GIAC will boost to 1.2 bar, and some say this is over 100% of the turbos ability as is APR.

What is your take on this? I'm not looking to start a battle.. only education and understanding for myself.

Default Re: Paging Imolavirus....

I'm not Imulavirus, but

As I understand, they are using this kind of information because its difficult to show all kind of information in only one parameter of the turbo like the boost pressure. It depends on rpm, temperature, etc (supposing stock engine).
So the tuners can marketing their product just saying that they are still taking care of the turbochargers (in % of max on all kind of "environments") and making power (different levels for the stock engine) tuning fuel, spark advance and valve timing controlling.

Reagrds,
Mark
