Default maf data logging question.....updated

did some 3500 to redline logs to se if my maf was on its way out and the readings i got were a maximum of 132g/s at 4900rpm. Is this a sign that my maf is dying? replaced the maf and this this runs like new, man what a difference it made.

Default peak should be a number about 80% of your horsepower

so if your car is a stock 1.8T then that sounds ok.

Default seems kind of low. My TT 180 get 150 around that RPM

Default from some Ross-Tech/VAG COM notes on MAF testing

a friend had it for when we tested her MAF and the numbers worked out right for a stock turbo car. I know if you convert turbo flow to g/s it should work out pretty closely.

Default For ~550 crank .. yes ~440g/s. This presumes there isn't a scaling work-around in the system.

For example, on the nDBW Stage III APR uses the OE MAF housing and MAS. They add a divider circuit to the chip and keep the OE 'map scaling'. So I see maximum MAF readings of around 230g/s on the 93 program. 230/.80=287

On the otherhand, PES/GIAC chose to work around the (~5v) OE MAF voltage limit by using a larger MAF housing with the OE MAS centered in the wider portion of the MAF housing barrel. Given they know the amount of flow that 'escapes detection' they scale the fuel delivery accordingly. As a result working around the voltage limit this way, the OE scale is in effect and PES cars will only read ~170g/s as the other ~50-60 g/s goes 'around' the MAS.

So, depending on exactly how Hans approaches the set up in your situation, the 'rule' may or may not hold for you.

Default I thought you would be running mafless?

The maf readings only work if your running a stock maf sensor/housing combo. Once you change that the readings and scale rate will change.

Default On my custom setup he also rescaled the maf readings to work with my 3.5" housing and stock sensor.

This gives me a standard 5-6g/s reading at idle and a reading of 230-250 g/s when producing 400+ whp. Only bad part is that the DBW maf doesn't work like the ndbw, there is no 0-5 volt signal for me to see what % it is running at.
