Default Brake pads necessary?

I have a 92audi100cs and sometimes there's a screeching sound when i hit the brakes lightly. Since this is my first car, im not sure if that means i need new brake pads or not.
Another note: My rims get dirty real quick!
So if these are symptoms of deteriorated brake pads, where can i get cheap but good brake pads.

Default Visually inspect the pads...

if there's less than 1/8" of pad material left, they should be changed.

Default Re: Brake pads necessary?

Your best Advice today - Take advantage of free brake inspection at any Brake and Muffler shop across the country.
Never assume anything when it comes to brakes.

It's your only life insurance plan that really works...............
