2000 A6 2.7 6sp....

What goes wrong and often needs to be replace/upgraded on the rear suspension? I've had a shhhty front Sus for some time. Now the back is starting to sound extra hard thump when going over a bump.

Regarding the front suspension, does bad camber make the car lurch to one side or the other when going over bumps?

Not camber, but toe will make the car follow ruts in the road. Also worn tires exaggarate that.

I recommend you get the rear looked at, potentially get new tires, and then follow it with an alignment.
