Wow. That hurts. That happened to our CRV outside as well, though not as much. I can tell you that the impact spot will not disappear. On our CRV (black) it stuck around even after a full detail job (wet sanding/clay bar, etc). One good thing is that you have a red car. Probably more forgiving than black. I'd say go for a full detail job with all the trimmings and see if that gains you anything on the exterior. At the very least you'll have a clean car and will not have had to go the repainting route.
Have you tried swirl remover on the impact spot?

I had to have mine repainted down both sides this last winter and the body shop did such a good job you can't tell it was repainted. If you know of a good repair shop in your area that can do the work and will stand behind it, then its likely that nobody will be able to tell that you repainted it - even if they only repaint the door.
The problemss with eggs is they eat the paint and when the egg hits, the shells actually cut into the paint and damage it deeply. I would be very surprised if you're able to buff those out at all. I'd take it to a good body shop that you trust and let them tell you what would need to be done. Hopefully you've taken some pictures of where the egg splattered and have washed it by now. If not - get washing! John

adjuster was very familiar with egg damage and assured me that it would only get worse. Guess I'll be getting both doors repainted. Not sure about hood, front fender, rear quarter panel or trunk lid. Will let the body shop determine if needed.

No issues if it's a good paint match. Emphasize this and reemphasize it that you're very concerned about a good paint match. And of course, go to a good shop to start with.
Chances are, the car will need paint at some other point as well, it's just a sad fact of car ownership. Sorry to hear about the incident, though. Cheers, Rich

....Once you find the little fu@kers and run them over
Ok, maybe that's a little harsh, but stuff like this is infuriating.I am so sorry. I can only imagine how you feel. I'm sure it will all work out. Good luck.
