Default 2004 a4 Ultra Sport1.8t vs 2006 a4 S-Line 2.0t

Considering purchase of either an 04 or 05 1.8T w/ Ultra Sport package or possibly a 06-07 a4 2.0t S-Line. I'm looking for some honest opinions, I currently have a 2000 stage2+ a6 6mt that is in the processes of having k04s put on and am thinking of replacing it with something a bit more on the sporty side but am concerned about the motor differences on the b6 and b7 a4s. Is the 1.8t with the stage 3 kit perform well enough to be a fun car?

Default A K04'd 1.8T will perform the same as a chipped 2.0T w/exhaust... 2.0T is a superior engine

Default yes 1.8T stage 3 is "fun enough" but it wouldn't be your best bet.

The new engine is just a lot more potent. Put the K04 onto the B7 along with a fuel pump upgrade and it should be plenty fun, newer and more reliable.

Default here's another vote for a K04'd 2.0T over a stage 3 1.8t

I've owned a 1.8t and now my girlfriend has a 2.0T s-line B7... and the 2.0T is a better engine, period.

Default Re: Agree.

I guess that makes this call fairly easy, I get the a6 buttoned up and start shopping for a B7 A4. TY!

Default just don't go thinking that a B7 will keep up with the K04 A6. ;-)

Default Nothing besides an RS4 or RS6 in the Audi model line up can hold with a K04 A6
