Default 4 spoke steering wheel on all '07's? and engine question

my mom just traded in her 03 3.0 cabrio for the '07 2.0 and i really like her steering wheel, my friend has an 05 with the T shaped steering wheel. Is it in only in the cabriolets?

I Love the car.

My mom has complained saying it "sounds like a race car", i know its the 4 cyl that will getting used to(esp. after driving the 3.0), but i do agree, it does seem a little loud when you get on her.
Its still in the break in period and i think that will naturally be fixed in a few thousand miles.

Did you guys notice that at all?

Thanks

Sean

Default the 2.0 will always sound like that

and as far as I know, all steering wheels are that design. I'm not sure about the SLines

Default The engine sound won't improve with time

I don't mind the engine noise during hard acceleration, but I do hate the diesel-like idle sound. It just doesn't belong on a car costing upwards of $40K.

Default oh?

If expensive cars aren't supposed to sound like diesel engines, how do you explain A8's with diesels in them?

I agree that the 2.0T sounds a bit like a diesel at idle, but on the other hand, this is the base engine in a family car. In europe, this _would_ be a diesel engine.

The 2.0T sounds nothing like an actual TDi from the outside either.

My A4 is the quietest car in our family, at any RPM. The 2.0T is a fantastic engine Nothing you do to it will make it sounds as smooth as a 6 cylinder -- you can't fight physics. The benefits of TFSI surely outweigh the diesel-like sound you sometimes here. I never notice the clatter once the engine is warmed up and i'm driving anyway.
