extremely. But keep in mind the reason there is so much debate on what are the "proper" settings is because it will vary from car to car, climate to climate, etc. There really is no "standard" for what is right. Just general starting points. The changes are so small that you are basically just fine tuning tiny little variations that may even log out differently a month later. I'd just log block 20, 34, 31, 115 and see how it looks on your car. Otherwise it really wont matter if you are a bit off.

bhvrdr has a good write up on that
If you do not have VAG-COM, run boost at 5, timing at 4 (91 Octane is 3 by default, 93 Octane is 5 by default, so 4 should be safe on 92). I run boost at 4, and timing at 7 now (on 92 Octane). I am sacrificing low end grunt for a more linear feel. These settings work for me and my car, but are NOT recommended if you do not have a VAG-COM to check. I found that on 94 Octane I could run timing at 9 and still keep CFs in single digits (but it is cooler in Seattle) I also found that at boost settings above 6, requested boost would be consistently higher than actual boost. I assume that the turbo was being asked to make more boost that it could... SPS is great is you have a VAG-COM to log results, otherwise - stay within factory settings or lower. Play with boost at 5 and 6 - see which ones "feels" better. Do not go over 6 on boost or 5 on timing without logging. |

It changes about 2-3.5 psi from all it's range so moving it from a 7 to 9 is insignificant. If it changed 50mbar for each setting that would be 10psi it could move from 0-10 which it does not. Similarly each timing increment is NOT a degree of timing. The settings really are much smaller than people post or think. If you logged on the same eact settings for example during two seperate sessions you might think you made a change by looking at the logs but they were just statisitical variance.

I will log some more this weekend. It could be that Stage II software allows for more boost adjustement. I am sure though that setting max boost means that in higher RPM you will be asking for more than the KO3 is capable of making. Unless, unless, I have a leak.

I found that SPS has 93 programmed at Boost 6, Timing 5, Fuel 9.
My original installer had me set at the 7/5/9, but I have backed it down to 6/5/9 I would run those. Dave |

depending on conditions. I was only meaning to point out the difference between say...boost 6 and boost 8 is very very small. It's not a 4.5psi difference. It would be pretty cool to do it up like you do and show logs during the same ambient conditions between different setting holdin the others contstant, such as changing only boost then only timing and logging the changes.
