Default Replica B7 S4 rims vs. OEM B7 S4 rims

This has been discussed a little over at Fourtitude, but just wondering if anyone over here could add anything. I'm looking to get the B7 S4 rims as my summer wheels (I'll probably put them with Micheline PS2 tires) Replicas are about half the price of OEM rims.

What are my sacrificing going to replicas?

They seem to be slightly wider and I think the offset might be a bit different.

Is there a noticeable quality difference in materials or finish?

Here are th pics of both.

Default where are you buying the reps from?

If you're buying the replicas from Hartmann then rest assured they have excellent quality. I'm running a set of their DTM RS4 replicas and love them.

Yeah, I'm getting them from Hartmann, from all the pictures I can't tell any difference from those and the OEM rims. I was just hoping the finish on them is good (as many clear coats) and quality of aluminum on them is good. What do you think?

I wouldn't buy replica myself.. I bought once, one problem they always go wider if OEM is 18x8 they will go 18x8.5 so if you fit 225 or 235 it will look stretch and the protection is gone for the rim itself then you need to buy wider tires, and it will look ugly.. the finish well they scratch easy however repainting them shouldn't be a issue they use friendly-envo paints.. but again it is your choice..

Good to know. Yeah, the Hartmann rims are in fact wider. They're 8.5" instead of 8"

But assuming I bought the proper size tires, why would wider tires look uglier?

Do you mean the offset looks wrong, like the wheels stick out too far on the car?
