Default 2 Questions on B7

1) How do the optional power folding side view mirrors work? Is there a button, or do they automatically fold in/out as a function of the ignition status?

2) Ok I already answered my own question on the adaptive bi-xenon headlights. Although I don't quite know what the "bi" means. Easy enough to find. #1 seems to be impossible to find though.

Default Let me answer that for you.

All you have to do to fold those mirrors in, is to turn the power mirror switch toward you.
You have the center position, or you can turn it left for the left mirror, or right for the right mirror; well keep turning it in either direction until it faces you. (You should actually see a small ico that shows the position to fold the mirrors in).

The bi-xenon means that it has low AND high beam Xenon lights.

Hey Alex - thanks for the response.

First with respect to the bi-xenon... Wow that must light up the road. I understand that the A4's change the "focus" of headlights depending on the road lighting?

I guess I do not understand how the power mirror switch works - I haven't been to the dealer yet - I was waiting for the 2005.5's to become available before I visit. So I'm not quite sure of how you select between the two mirrors, and position them, and also fold them in. Anyone have a picture of the controls for the mirror? (I guess it isn't that critical - I will eventually get to the dealer)

Thansk again

There is a circular motion switch+joy stick (all in one) that has three icons on it (roughly) at the 10 O'clock position there is a small picture of the left mirror, at the 2 O'clock position there is a picture of the right mirror and at the 6 O'clock position there is a picture of a mirror with a "pig tail" with an arrow on one end of the tail. When you point the switch at the left arrow the joy stick function allows up down left right movement of the mirror; ditto the right mirror with an additional feature that is enabled with the switch pointed at the right mirror -- when the car is placed into reverse the right mirror dips to show the driver the curb; finally, the pig tail position, when engaged, causes both mirrors to simultaneously fold inward and "hug" the front doors.

This feature is a pain in the butt when you go to car washes as the car wash employees always seem to want to force the mirrors to close manually even when you tell them not to touch them -- then when you use the mirror function the next time a very loud CRACK happens and you would think the HULK was tearing off your mirrors with his teeth.

This feature, otherwise, is very nice, works like a charm, etc.

Wow what a nice feature

I have a very narrow garage. I may want to daily fold them in just for a little extra margin.

Thanks for the details

Default Yep, the 3.0 always had it; this is a first on the 2.0.
