Default PS3 owners with Macs rejoice! Seamless video/itunes/audio/photo sharing available!

Time to say goodbye to half-assed workarounds. This software is legit and worth the $20. I just tested the trial version and upgraded to the full version after I realized everything works perfectly.

Now everything in my itunes library (except DRM'd music which I have very little of anyway) from any of my macs in my home network can be browsed through my PS3's. Playlists, albums, etc remain as is on my itunes and same goes with iphoto as well as the movies in itunes and any music/movie/photo in any other folder in my macs.

Now watching top gear episode streaming from my mac in the bedroom on a PS3 in the guest bedroom. Sweet! Talk about a great way to hide my pr0n from the gf yet still be easily accessible from any TV in my home!

Repost? So what. Check it out... Medialink for Mac+PS3

Default don't PC's (windows) already work with UPNP devices? it was the macs that couldn't until now.

Default Maybe, I haven't really looked that hard into it.

It would be nice if Itunes could function as a media server the way Media Player does. My PS3 picks up all my old mp3 files, but anything I've gotten from Itunes doesn't show up.

Default Most files bought on iTunes have Apple's DRM, FairPlay.

Apple hasn't licensed FairPlay to anyone. That software doesn't allow streaming of iTunes DRM files either, but LarryV stated that in his original post.

Default Really...I would consider myself a pretty advance user...

and coming from Windows I happen to think the iTunes is pretty simple and easy to use like most Apple products. The only thing I find awful is the pricing and the DRM when you purchase music through it. Oh and I don't like it doesn't operate with Mass Storage devices out of the box.

I use it to manage my music/movies and it works rather well and I've not purchased any of my music from Apple/iTunes.

I also sync my phatbox with it via PhatMac and it works better and quicker than the orig. software that shipped from PhatNoise. I realize there are limitations but you have to have some limitations if its going to be user-friendly for totally unexperienced users. I guess its just nice to have a central place for all media.

Just curious why you think its junk?

Default Interesting...I've been looking at the AppleTV but also in the market

for a BluRay player but I've always intended on getting a XBox360 because from what I've read its a better gaming system than the PS3 but the BluRay angle has me considering it. I had to not purchase a SA unit but the PS3 seems to be the best solution out right now...not to mention its gaming capabilities.

I'm curious can you point me to where I can overview of the AV or Photo sharing interface of the PS3...maybe a video...etc?
