Default Why is it so hard to find a nice in-expensive A/V cabinet... (more)

I want a nice light oak coloured A/V cabinet to put under my plasma. AVS forums has a ton of stuff, but it's mostly really friggin expensive.

A couple covered drawers to hold some components. Room for my center channel on top.

Under 300-400 bucks...

Oh, and nice and wide... like at least 50 inches.

I guess I'm asking too much for a sizeable piece of furniture.

I'm thinking of going the Ikea route...

Default Hey, whatever you sent him, I need it too. I need a dark cherry a/v rack that is around 31" tall.

I want something that will look nice but isn't a hell of a whole lot. Looking to spend 200-250 tops.

Default I LOVE the salamander tripple 20, but with doors and sides, it's over a grand. :(

I've read on the AVS that the Bush stuff is well... bush.

I'm really liking this at the moment, I might be perfect for you Cadiburns...

Default That does look nice

My only issue with components under a TV - is getting to the wires at the back. Hard to move and reach.

Default I like the wood... I don't want a modern glass + steel enclosure.

Default If you're components fit in that...you're golden...

My issue is depth, and 20" exterior depth doesn't leave me enough interior room. My guess is this cabinet would accomodate a 17" deep component before you started to run into trouble.

There is a furniture thread inside the plasma forum on avsforum that I found helpful. Not sure how much was suggested in the way of inexpensive solutions...as I typically breezed over those.
