Default Do not buy a non-HD TV at this point.

Default We had a 36" Toshiba delivered for $550 from Best Buy

Delivery was free. On a TV this size, that's significant. We bought is as a stop-gap measure to give us a bigger picture until prices come down on LCD/DLP units. So a year from now we'll buy one of those and sell off this one.

If I had it to do all over again, I might opt for a 32" instead. This 36" TV is too big/heavy for one person to move, and even two people struggle with it.

Default Any reason you don't want a bigger tv? The 46" Sony tabletop RPTV is now $1200

I have it and it is awesome - rivals the most expensive RPTV's out there (CRT). Sound & Vision reviewed it's big brother in their HDTV shootout, and it beat out $7000 Pioneer Elites...

After Avia calibration, it looks insane. Plus, it probably weighs waaay less than those direct view models.

Default Ah, dang, looks like it's been replaced

New unit supports HDMI - still probably awesome though, just back to $1500... Really an awesome tv for the money, my friends are all blown away and were surpirsed to find it wasn't an LCOS or LCD tv. Looks great out of the box, but really shines after Avia tuning.
