Default got to drive an s8 today...wow fun!

the dealer had a red, yes red s8. And it looked good! Got to test drive one and it was a lot of fun. A little too fast if you ask me :-)

Default That's great!

But I have to disagree with one thing... there is no such thing as too fast when it comes to cars. Especially Audi's!

When are you picking it up?

Default Only one thing I don't like about the S8's

They don't make an S8L. Once you have that limo-like back seat area, anything less just won't do it for me.

If I had to have more power (which I don't) I guess it would be a W12. The 4.2 is fine, I would just have the speed limiter reprogrammed/chipped once the warranty went out. Even though I don't need to go above 125 or whatever the limited speed is, I'd like to be able to keep up with a ****-ant in a small car that has a higher top speed.

Default I just must disagree with the "too fast" statement! You'll enjoy it if you get it

Default NEED ONE TO STAY YOUNG

Don't wait, buy one, you only live once and if you aren't worth it who is? Just keep saying its one of the safest cars in the world and my life is worth it.

Default A8 compared to S8

I've been kicking around picking up an S8. i have a couple of questions. how would you compare the ride between the A8 and the S8?
is the extra hp very noticeable?

Default I have owned an 05 A8 SWB, an 06 A8L sport and now an S8..........

I have 25k on the S8 and rcked up similar mileage on each of the prior cars.
Ride: the sport suspension fitted to the S8 has a greater adjustment range (in my opinion) than the A8 variants. On dynamic it is tighter and can on occasion feel a bit harsh. On comfort it remains superb in terms of feel and cornering but the ride is more compliant than in an A8.
Performance: Yes, you really can tell the difference! Believe me, this is not a little engine tweak we are talking about. People talk about 0-60 times and yes, they are impressive for a car weighing 4000 pounds. However, when the car is doing 50 and you want to pass, this vehicle simply flies. I have never seen official times for say 40-70 but, press the loud pedal and you will hit 100 before you know it. Add to that the sound you get ... that reminds me I must go and drive it - goodbye!
