Default So much for Porsche build quality...kinda dissapointed at initial impression on cayenne turbo

good day all, just some minor annoyances on the cayenne turbo that I thought I needed to rant, firstly, while polishing the car to perfection, there was this tooney sized yellow spot on the surface of the paint. No problem I thought, compound, cut, polish. WTH did not do nuts to the thing at all, in the sun it looks like someone used a crayon and coloured yellow over it, how the hell did this past porsche inspection I am astounded, and yes I was using rotary not PC. next thing I know, rear DVD head sets not working....then when i met up with the guy about to do clear bra,"hey why is there moisture in your led strips?"...man was I pissed, but sales rep assured me all of it is minor and will be fixed at least, plus we get to abuse a loaner cayenne soon , well not really, I respect any car I drive.

Default Interesting - -

Drove new Cayenne S and Turbo when they came out and thought it was decent but interior fit/finish and button quality was laughable. Honda had them beat 10yrs ago and strictly from quality perspective, BMW and Audi trounce them now.

Owned a Carrera 2003 and seats were a nightmare and "upgraded" Bose stereo lasted approx 3wks. Very weak in the quality dept.

Default Return to the Basics

I noticed the same thing on my friend's 2004 Boxster.

Maybe they should go back to making race cars with roll down windows that go like hell (ala early to mid '80s).

The new Lotus (the little one) reminds me of the Porsches from the old days. Roll down windows, no frills, no luxury but fast and fun to drive. (I know...Porsche shouldn't be compared to Lotus)

I could be wrong about Porsche...maybe I should own one first before I comment.

Default did you consider a G55 Galendawagen?

its not built like a brick house... it is a brick house. brother has one - fwiw. He had a renntech pulley/sc kit installed and the AAMG option which unlimits the upper end.

I still dont quite understand the uber-fast SUV genre, but it is a beast. It is insanely fast. And the sound is remeniscent of a Nascar racer. Eats all matter of Cayennes for breakfast -- especially the poor, underachiever turbos, sorry -- - and the occasional aston martin. Nothing has broken. 40k miles

What quality! I have a Cayenne Turbo and it is in the shop at least once a month. Porsche sure knows how to build an engine but other than that, they have a lot of work to do.
