06 A8L radio goes from OFF to ON full blast...

whenever it darn well pleases. Sure gets my attention. Must be a design feature to keep the driver alert.

i think u might have pressed the thumbwheel volume **** accidentaly..just a thought.

It could be a fault in the noise detection, perhaps as simple as a faulty microphone giving spurious readings.

Do you have voice command? Phone prep? If so, any issues with those?

Naw, Auto pilot was off. The microswitches in the main landing gear struts prevent the autopilot from working until fully airborne and landing gear is up. I was still on the ground...I think. Have voice command and bluetooth phone. They work properly. Gotta check to see if inadvertently touching thumbwheel volume will turn the system on...full blast. Congrats on your excellent article...don't know how it could be better.

Like when going out and being offered a drink at a friend's house and being able to let the car pilot itself home later so you could accept.
