Default Re: Things I'd tell Audi to change if they asked me (AudiUSA - are you listening?)

1. Less tentative, more immediate gas pedal response from 0 mph in D and S modes for "intended acceleration"
2. Tiptronic paddles with heated leather wheel
3. Aluminum gas/brake/dead pedals
4. More sophisticated phone integration

Default Here is my list (listen up Audi-and not just AoA and AoC)

1. Lexus-like customer service and treatment from Audi dealerships
2. Lexus of America and Lexus of Canada like customer service and treatment from Audi of America and Audi of Canada
3. Lexus levels of comfort refinement and reliability without sacrificing excellent driving dymanics and sporty demeanor. Lower prices without sacrificing service, quality, excellent driving dynamics and sporty would shure as **** help, too.
4. Not wanting to go into an Audi dealership using an AK 47 or .44 Magnum to hold dealership staff at gunpoint and force them to give all customers (including yourself) lexus like customer service and treatment.
5. Facilities and staff at every dealer and importer (i.e. AoA, AoC, etcetera) in every conceivable way).
6. Everything everyome else said so far.
7. Seat ventilation and massagers for front and outboard rear seats for all seat configurations.
8. Equal versatility and comfort for front and outboard rear seats-standard for driver and front passenger, optional for outboard rear passengers (except W12 where this should be standard as well).
9. Better exterior color and interior color choices (i.e. black pearl, volcano black mica, easy to match pearlscent white, etcetera; cream beige/black, cream beige/navy blue, amaretto, navy blue, etcetera).
10. Active steering.
11. 7 speed DSG with maximum capacity of 516 lbs/ft of torque.
12. Higher revving, normally aspirated FSI engines regardless of cylinder count.
13. Quattro only with no FWD throughout the lineup worldwide (FWD sux ***).
14. Diesel engine availability worldwide.

Default Wishlist:

Make throttle sensivity adjustable, plus make it heavier; heavier spring.
Make MMI console watertight (against spilled drinks)
Integrate phones properly.
Make steering less woolly, more self-centering.
Allow customers to customize their MMI, ie allow people to have photo of loved ones on screen when car starts.
More multimedia options (iPod, minidisc)
For tall people, make the 'depth' of the seats greater, at least 3 inches extra needed in my case.

That's all Audi, now get to it!

Merry Christmas!

Default Why would you want Lexus like service, reliability & comfort? What in the world is that?

Go buy one! Really! Never owned a Lexus, but, I wouldn't want to have Lexus buy Audi or have Audi try to be like Lexus. Just give me seals that don't leak, then service issues vanish.

Default Head restraints...

The problem is that, if the restraints happen to be retracted and you are rear-ended, the company may be liable for not providing protection. The solution is to have sensors in the seat raise the restraints when someone occupies the seat. VW has already put this systm in one of their other vehicles and should put it in the A8. Maybe they will.

Default Drive by wire and transmission shifts

Make it so that you can teach the transmission how you want it to shift and save the setting so you can select/restore it! That way, if somebody else in the family drives like an old lady and sombody else drives like a jet jocky, the car will know who is driving and set the shift points, throttle response etc. accordingly.

Default Lexus' service is tops, but...

Agreed -- there is no better service experience than a Lexus dealer (30 second car drop off, no explinations, loaner car running and waiting...)

But Lexus has no match for the A8.....

Unless, they come out with a AWD sedan... hmmmm

Of course there is the minor thing about STYLE...
