Default S8 arrival?

does anybody know when the new S8 will come out? will it look more like the regular A8, or the W-12 A8 with the big front end?

Default Some say the V-10..some say a Turbo 4.2...some say...

just a more output 4.2(not sure how much more it can get out this baby though)...some say it will be the W-12..some say the S8 won't happen in a SEDAN format(SWB) and that would be a shame. Some say the sport sedan will only be in the A6 body as an RS6 and no RS8, unless it's the Nuvalari(sp?)....in other words no one really knows.

Default My dealer says 5.2L V10. That is correct. For both the S6 and the S8.

I believe the 5.2L V10 (DOHC 40V with FSI, of course) will produce 440 or 480 hp and 406 lbs/ft of torque.

The V10 will not fit in the engine bay of the new A6.
The RS6 will be a 500hp Twin turbo V8.
The S8 however is supposed to get the V10.

Default According to UrQ on the RS 6 forum

There will not be a new RS 6. Audi found a way to fit the V10 in the engine bay of the new S6. I believe that the revisions made exclusively to the new S6 over the lesser new A6s include the following. New firewall. New floor pan. Two inch longer wheelbase. Half an inch longer overall. One inch wider front and rear tracks. Flared wheel wells front and rear. And revisions made to the V10 for V8 size, weight and space efficiency. Much like the V8 in the new A6 and new S4 was revised for six cylinder size, weight and space efficiency.

Default READ Autoweek '05-M5 Article this week. I'll bet Audi will be inclined

to do similar things with their V10 as BMW.

Which are......

If Audi does do similar things to the Lambo V10 that BMW did to their own V10, I hope that the S6 and S8 are reliable, V10 and everything else.
