Default SWB Question re: rear doors...

I don't know if this will make sense or not, but...

One of the features that I really like about my A8L is the way that the rear doors open so much, almost 90 degrees from the car. In my 745i, that was always one of my complaints... the doors didn't open nearly as far, making it difficult to access the rear seat or to load certain items in the back.

So I am wondering, do the rear doors on the SWB A8 open as far? Obviously, they're shorter and the opening is narrower, but I just wonder about the door swing.

My main hesitation when buying the A8L was the LWB. I don't really need it and, even though I have grown accustomed to it, I still think I'd prefer SWB. Or maybe I am just looking for an excuse to '05 shop?

Thanks for your opinions. Have a great holiday.

Default My experience with both the A6 and A8 seem to indicate that wide-opening doors are an Audi feature.

Default I agree! I see no reason why a shortened wheelbase

would have any bearing on the "wide door opening" feature.
