Audi A6 TPM-II Repair Authorization Release date: Jan 30, 2009

Condition

If a 2009 Audi A6 arrives at your dealership and requires diagnosis or repair for the TPM-II System, Repair Authorization must be completed prior to any repair.

These procedures are mandatory for all Audi Dealers until further notice.

Technical Background

Audi of America is requesting your cooperation in supplying us with the technical information vital to the successful introduction of the all-new TPM-II System (Sensorless).

Through our combined efforts and cooperation, we will be able to raise the level of Audi quality and overall customer satisfaction.

Production Solution

Service

Audi of America is requesting that the following procedure be followed by all Audi Technicians for all TPM-II issues:

Repair Authorization Process

1. Verify customer concern.

2. Create a ticket using the Technical Assistance Center System in ElsaWeb.

3. In the Concern Type field, select A/C - CV Top - Brakes - Body/Chassis/Suspension & Airbag for proper routing to a TAC Consultant.

4. Describe the customer concern with as much detail as possible, and fill in all required fields.

5. Always attach the Collection Services Diagnosis Log and complete the 2009 A6 TPM-II Test Sheet. Also supply the values of MVB 1 - 5, 15 and 30 of the TPM-II control module (4C).

6. Activate the TAC ticket promptly by calling the TAC for further instruction before carrying out any test plans, erasing fault codes, or repairs.

7. The Repair Authorization and procedure will be communicated via a TAC consultant. This will ensure that the correct information is gathered so that any issues found can be properly repaired and improved in production. Launch Tickets are usually responded to within a very short time. However, should our response time exceed 60 minutes from the point of activation, you may proceed with the repair.

Default So they switched to the 90's style GM TPMS system?

Using the ABS system to determine "loss of air pressure".
