Default Dension installation / instructions

Hi,

I am considering installing the Dension IPOD connector to my 2005 A6 since I don't know when Audi will have a solution and am hoping someone can help me with a couple of questions:

1. Has anyone installed this themselves? Is it easy? I saw instruction on their site but are very generic - not specific to Audi

2. Does anyone know any installers in the NJ/NY area that have done this?

I wouldnt install Dension , i would wait for AMI retrofit kit, it is AMI interface module model 4E0 035 785 + MMI update. I installed AMI today and it is way better than dension for the main reason that is going to be compatable with future MMI updates , unlike dension .

Default Be careful..

My dealer said that if I installed the Denison, that anything related to the installation and use of the Denison would be voided from the OEM warranty. So the MMI unit would no longer be covered by Audi. I'm not sure if they can legally do it, but thats what they are saying. Personally, I'm going to wait for the promised Audi retro fit. Hopefully I don't have to wait till my RS6 is ready.

mine is US spec Oct '05 ( im in california) but my MMI is EU ver. 3460 , i heard there is a new US mmi update ver. 33.6 or 3360 that supports AMI, i know AMI would work as long as your MMI supports MP3 player/changer. I also heard that the Q7 with rear view camera doesnt need a MMI update to retrofit AMI.

Default My dealer claims they know nothing about it...

Do you have any documentation on it working on an 05 so I can show them.
This is bad where owners know more than some dealers!

Thank you all for the info. I would love to wait for the retro fit but I can't seem to get any info on it. I am almost tempted to upgrade to the newer year model but I can't justify it
