emit of dim light from mirror LEDs as well as the flash of the key for hazard-warning signal indicates that the CAN bus is still active.
After a couple of minutes with no activities, the CAN bus will go to sleep mode and the signal lights should be turned off. Once in sleep mode, you can e.g. wake up the CAN bus from outside the car by just pressing the liftgate opener. You will notice the LEDs in the mirror begin to emit dim light and the hazard-warning key flashes on.
