Default Car is at the body shop and

I am in a JAGUAR

It is the worst. Its a 3.0 X Type. I have had it for 1 hour and I already an trying to convince the wife to drive it and let me have her Touareg. Its not lookin good that I will convince her, so looks like I'll be in the Jag for a week.

It could be worse I know, I could be driving a BMW. I just can't wait to get the 6 back.

Default Go ask any Brits and...

they'll tell you Jag is the best, and of course Land Rovers, Range Rovers, Aston Martins, Rolls & Bentley for that matter as well. However they seems to forget none of those are British car anymore. What's more, PAG are losing money left and right coz' no one is buying their cars.

You may have just discovered why after an hour in the Jag....

Default It's just a re-badged Mondeo, not a true Jag

Default Thanks for the generalisation.

Now if you want to talk about Jingoism!

The X-type is poor compared to the A4/3 series/C Class and the only reason it sells here in the UK is because its relatively cheap.

Default I feel your pain...

I spent 14.5 hours driving an X-type from Annapolis, MD home to Boston (friend's car)...yeah, it is normally a 6.5 hour drive, but I drove right through the heart of the blizzrd the whole way!

Not that impressed with the X-type, felt like a Ford...oh wait, it is! At least the AWD kept us moving forward, albeit 30MPH the whole way.

Default True, never had

but have driven a 745i, a 330Xi, an M3 and an X5. The 330Xi I drove for almost a month. My problem with BMW is the stigma attached to their owners. The typical BMW owner that I HAVE ENCOUNTERED (I AM NOT SAYING ALL, JUST THE ONES I HAVE MET) is usually a 'snob' who doesn't appreciate fine automobiles. The only reason they have one is cause of the fancy advertisement and status symbol they represent.

Default Why the cheapshot at BMW??

All German cars are above average in performance, luxury and driving pleasure. They have different brand characteristics. I have two BMWs and have owned several Benzes as well. I have not had an Audi to date but drove a new A6 4.2 recently which impressed me very much. I'm waiting to compare it to a 545i which will soon be a 550i with a beast of an engine. I'm told the BMW experience still beats anything in it's class. I love my two Bimmers which have given me nothing but driving pleasure with zero problems

Default could be true, but from my experience a mercedes driver(not all, but 70%)knows crap about thier car

Most bmw owners i have met were enthusiasts. Especially M3 owners.

A few years ago this guy pulls up in a MB SL600(older body style). Im smoking a cigarette outside the building and say "Beautiful car" hes like "yea, its mean, that eight cylinder really roars" im like "ya, too bad its a 12", his smile goes away and simply says "its my boss's old car, he sold it to me". Conversation ended there.
