Audi to continue to expand line up... Avant due in fall
This was in the Car Connection this morning...
"Audi executives are on a bender when it comes to new-model introductions - today's range of models will expand from some 20 distinct vehicles to 30 or 40 by the end of the decade, says Axel Mees, Audi of America's new brand leader. And among those vehicles will be the Q7, the production version of the Pikes Peak quattro sport-ute that's been making the rounds of the auto-show circuit in the past two years. Also waiting in the wings, Mees suggested, are production versions of the Nuvolari coupe and Le Mans quattro supercar also exhibited at recent auto shows; these vehicles are "considered to be a part of our coming product range," though no dates were suggested for production. One new vehicle was officially announced at the national press launch of the A6 sedan though TCC has had spy shots of it for months: the A6 Avant, which will arrive in the U.S. in the fall of 2005 with Audi's 3.2-liter direct-injection V-6. -Marty Padgett"
