Default Re: This won't bugger a launch and with a 0-60 under 4.6 but will on run to 115mph's but Fast .....

Reason I know is it was mine and with all wheel drive a made corvettes and lots of others look silly/slow and all the motor was putting out was 475 hp @ crank and rarely got beat to 100 by any street car.
Now over 115 mph's was a whole diffirent story kinda like

GMC ad below from web ,

Succeeding John Rock as GMC's General Manager in 1992, Lewis Campbell decided to expand the companies horizons as well as continue with what Rock & Nielsen had started. Needing to fill the void left by the Syclone, Campbell & GMC decided to appeal practical performance to another area of the vehicle market.......the sport utility. Using the Syclone powertrain, GMC turned a 2 door Jimmy into more than your everyday "grocery getter". This SUV would sport a redesigned interior and exterior from the base model Jimmy. With the same style ground effects & wheels as the Syclone, GMC gave this vehicle a lowered air ride suspension & multiple paint options (10). With the exterior and powertrain complete, GMC turned it's attention to the interior. Along with performance, this is where this SUV would separate itself from the crowd. With lumbar supported bucket seats, a cushioned ride, and a full leather interior, you could truely ride in comfort and style. With standard air conditioning, cc, tw, pw, pdl, and power mirrors, this vehicle would add a few more options over the Syclone. An optional CD player could be installed for the music lover or a roof rack could be attached for the traveler. With almost 70 inches of interior cargo space, this would be no ordinary performance vehicle. Bound to shake the market as the Syclone did, GMC went with an addictive and fitting name......the "Typhoon". With production totals of 4700 in 2 years ('92 & '93), the Typhoon was rare as well as fast. With over 200 extra lbs. the Typhoon was slightly slower than it's sibling, the Syclone. Knocking out 60 mph in the 4-5 second range and the 1/4 mile in the high 13's/low 14's, the Typhoon was still very much a competitor. Today, the Syclone and Typhoon continue to leave their mark. Tearing up the asphalt all across the world. Although they may look harmless at first glance, don't dare tempt these vehicles. You will be sorry you did.

Default It won't bugger a launch because it won't start! J/K. I loved the warning that even though it's a

truck, you couldn't tow anything with it. A lot of confidence in that trans and engine. (And we should talk about trannys.)

Default Re:Over 100,000 miles on that R-700 w/o a hick up , naaa for

towing it sucked bad
Even the rs6 would have lost to my old Typhoon for 0-85 mphs cause that all wheel drive would hook like the audis and rock and roll ( yeah running the rpm's up with brake on was the trick on that vechile as GMC stated in the manual ) but after that the audi would walk away.
Then of corse I was not into over 100 mph's in that little short wheel based truck either

See Now I like over 100 so I sold it long ago for my previous vechile the S4.

Default Now that's a sleepa!!!

I can imgine the look on peoples faces when they get smashed by a "truck" -- worse than getting stomped on by an Avant "wagon"...hope everybody had a great weekend -- finally got a chance to take some pics of my beast in favorable conditions...

peace...

Default I had one of those too........

white over white with the black interior. Scared a lot of Porsches and the like while I was in Germany. 130mph was like hitting a brick wall - the speed limiter cut in and shut everything down - no power steering, no p brakes, no nothing.

The first car I bought sight unseen from Koons GMC in Va. I bought it over the phone, sent them a check and had them put it on the boat for me. Some lowlife stole the CD changer on the boatride, but other than that it came over fine.

That thing just ate tires though.....
