Default Radar detector hardwire question

I have not been able to find an ignition controlled hot wire inside the sunroof/dome light panel. All wires tested seem to be hot with the ignition off. This may be due to OnStar. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Default Directly to fuse box is easy and safest.

The key is to strip the outer insulation from the wires leaving only the individual insulation on the wires (assuming you are using a V1 type wire which is simply a telephone wire). Once you strip the outer insulation the four indiviual wires can be easily pushed between the windshield and the Apiller cover using a credit card or similar.

Running the rest of the wire is easy since the front lip of the headliner has plenty of room for the full sized wire.
