Default Mugello Blue is LZ5E, which I know doesn't help you but...

The topic came up on rs6.com in this thread. Benman over there might be able to get the code for Daytona for you.

Default 6Y6Y, Mugello is 5W5W

This is for the US, direct from Audi's Vehicle order guide.

Default 5W5W is wrong, the thread on rs6.com explains it, but in a nutshell...

Benman had some sprayouts made up (he owns a repair shop) and sent me some over, which I photographed against the Muggy babe - different colour. So, I dove in the trunk and found the info label with the code LZ5E on it.

Anyway, this is academic as cyclinboy wanted Daytona codes. As far as I know, Benman says the codes he got from Audi for the Daytona were correct.

Default Is cyclinboy trying to buy an RS6 or fix one?

Interesting: I have the Audi order guide in front of me with 5W5W. All of my pre-sales communication with Audi has that code. However the trunk says LZ5E, as you said.

I guess sales codes are different from part numbers.

Just trying to help.

Default I think Benman got 5W5W from Audi as well

But it would appear that Audi got it wrong, which is a bit worrying if you think about it. I don't know if 5W5W is a different colour, perhaps Sprint Blue or something.

AFAIK, the paint codes are industry-standard. US paint manufacturers can make the right colour from the paint code, despite the original paint having been made in Germany by a different manufacturer. Of course, slight shade variations can exist between batches, but the idea is that a skilled painter can blend those in on a repair job.

If you got 6Y6Y and 5W5W from the same source as Benman, then 6Y6Y is probably right - the sprayouts he had made up did match up against a Daytona car.

Default LZ5E is the actual paint code that the painter or parts department uses. 5W5W is the order code ....

when ordering the car in Mugello Blue. Order code for Daytona Gray is 6y6y.

Default Surely, if the paint swatch was in your boot it would have been re-painted now anyway?
