Default So has anyone really looked over the maintinance book?

While the RS6 gets a lot of stuff done at every service interval, did you notice the interval for timing belt change? (1st at 35K the it looks like 40K there after)

The RS6, she may be easy, but she isn't cheap.

Default That won't be a fun job to change. I think I'll let someone else do it.

Default I wonder why that is so short? Concerns about underhood heat wearing the belt out perhaps?

Default with all the premature TB/tensioner failures on the 1.8T...

maybe AoA decided to play on the safe side.

While fixing the damages caused by a failed TB/tensioner on the 1.8T ain't cheap, I imagine it must cost a fortune on the RS6. Owners would be outraged if they had to deal with it post warranty.

Yet, AoA figures, if you can afford an RS6, you can most likely afford more frequent TB changes as well. I think they're just covering their *** on this one.
