Default Mance. The part # for the Magnaflow mid-muffler you used is a 11" muffler.

Why didn't you use the 14"? Would that provide greater silencing?

Default Dunno how that happened. I just measured and it's 14"...

but judging from how effective that unit was at quieting my system down (maybe 3-5%) it would take one 12ft long to actually make the noise level tolerable.

Gimme a week or so and I'll have feedback on the Flowmaster. May render all other "noise-related" components in my system unnecessary.

Default OK, thanks. ;-) I just double checked to make sure I wasn't smoking dope and

The part # you gave in an old post was #14376 and the 14" is #14377. Good, I'll update my site.

The reason I asked is I road in UrA4's car when I was in LA a few months ago and his exhaust setup is similar to yours (he is running the 14", too). I didn't find it that loud at all (and I am not looking for something too loud) but he is running dual 2.5" cats and a rear Sebring Muffler so its not an apples to apples comparison.

Can't wait to see how this new Flowmaster piece works out!

Default exhaust sounds, noise and individual tolerance levels are impossible...

to describe over the internet. I'll be the first to admit if I were in my late teens or 20's I wouldn't be looking at doing any changes to my exhaust. Conversely I would be paying money to "make" whatever car I drove sound like mine does now.
