Default More difficult than i thought...

Hello everybody

So i tried to swap the old MAF against the newer MAF ( from my wreck ), but it isnt so easy.
The old MAF has a connector with 4 pins, and the new one has a connector with only 3 pins.
So, accidental, my car mechanic visited. I asked him about this, and he said, that the cable from the MAF will go to the control unit. I know that there exists four different control units for the 2,8 12v.

So is it true, do i have to change the control unit and cable harness too?? Looks like there waits a lot of work for me :-/
