Calculating boost from MAF rate numbers and engine speed
Those of us with non-DBW don't have block 115 or 116 to get requested and actual boost. But...
If you log block 002 and use the MAF Mass Flow Rate (MFR in g/s) and RPMs (in revs per min duh), you can calculate boost at each data sample using:
P = 942(MFR/RPM) - 14.7
Great equation for those of us with non-DBW cars and maybe for those of us who have access to a VAG but no boost gauge.
It works on the theory that what goes out must come in. Took some liberties and assumed an ideal gas, fixed volumetric efficiency and slightly elevated intake air temperature, but the numbers are on.
