Default 97 A4 problems

Been having intermittent problems for about 6 months now.
1996 build A4 2.6 V6 auto - stalling and cutting out problems. Can be driving on freeway, sitting at lights, half way around a roundabout!
Last time it wouldnt start, totally locked, even central locking loacked! Had to have it towed to my Audi man. Never been much logged in the VAG but this time there were 2 entries, immobiliser and speed sensor. He's checked all he can and thinks I might be up for a new ECU - $2100
Trying to locate a used one as it may not be the problem. Its got to be somewhere in the electronics...

Default Re: 97 A4 problems

I doubt its your engine ecu.

But there have been problems with immobilzor ecu and or immobilzor module on ignition switch.
