best place to find 2nd hand wheels/rims

ebay/weekend shopper/motoring section of paper.

anywhere else?

is it worth ringing some audi/benz/vw dealers, would they ever get any aftermarket 2nd hand wheels they'd want to sell?

If you're looking for some OEM upgrades, try some of the larger wheel/tyre shops.

I notice you're in Brisbane so don't know specific places... but in Sydney quite a few Bob Jane and Beaurepaires outlets have lots of near new OEM wheels on racks in the windows for sale. You might be able to pick up some factory 16s or 17s at less than dealership prices.
