Default Club Audi Victoria 2003 - Drive Day!

Dear All;

Hard to believe it is 2003! And what better way to kick off the year than with a Scenic Cruise!

Where?: We will be driving to the summit of Mount Donna Buang along the Warburton Hwy through some of Victoria's most beautiful scenery. This is a spectacular drive with good to excellent quality roads with many many 'twisties' and 'sweepers'. Its a great section of road with some pretty challenging driving from the base of the Mountain to the Summit @ about 1240 metres and very picturesque scenery. The road up the mountain is in excellent condition.
When?: Saturday the 11th of January @ 11:00am SHARP. We will be meeting at the McDonalds at the corner of Springvale Road and Maroondah Hwy. They have a large car park suitable for a pre-drive meet. Please be there by 11:00am so that we can get away by 11:15pm at the latest. We will follow the Maroondah Hwy through Lilydale to the Warburton turn off. We then follow the Warburton Hwy through great country to just past Warburton where we turn off to Mount Donna Buang and on up the mountain.

How long will it take?: Its about and hour and a quarter drive to the top of the Mountain from the McDonalds - allow 3 hours return plus some time at the top for lunch photos and chit chat.

There are BBQ's at the top of the Mountain, a good large sheltered area, a massive 21 metre high lookout tower giving a fantastic 360 degree view and toilet facilities. Entry to the mountain is free this time of year. Food cannot be purchased on the mountain. However, we drive right through Warburton at the base of the mountain, which has many shops and cafes allowing privisions to be purchased.

You can get more information on Mount Donna Buang here http://www.parkweb.vic.gov.au/resources/05_0508.pdf

If you would like to come along please e-mail me at magic@bigpond.net.au so that numbers can be confirmed. For those of you with Unidel 2-way radio's please bring them - they make the drive very enjoyable when we can all easily communicate.

I look forward to seeing you there!

Kind Regards,

WORX A4

Default I may be in town that day ....

If I head over to checkout Peter's car on the 11th I will see if I can at least meet everyone at Maccas, even if I may not be able to do the run.

It will be good to see some modified Audi's, I have onlyh see stock A4 around Adelaide.

Default Just came back from a drive up there...

Great road, compared to the Black Spur it is sensational. No bumps, flat all the way, great corners and cool temps, great for turbos.
