Default Oil Ratings - ACEA and API......

manual states only use API SJ and ACEA 2 or 3 - I know SL exceeds API of SJ and is ok......but.....
Does a ACEA 5 rating exceed a ACEA 2 or 3?

what is ACEA rating?

Default ACEA A2 is for moderate performance engines, ACEA A3 is for high performance...

ACEA A5 is a newer specification that indicates longer drain intervals on high specific output engines. It's not suitable for use in some engines ( i don't know which). They are stringent european oil classifications such as API is for U.S. and ILSAC is for japan, etc.

Default ACEA A2 is for moderate performance but is ok for the S4??

I saw (STFA) that ACEA1 is for fuel economy.

Default The manual says it is but...

I'd go w/ an ACEA A3 oil. Most all synthetics w/ a 40 (0W or 5W) weight are that spec.

Default yes 10w60 castrol - only two or three brands.....

available worldwide I hear. the castrol racing 10w-60 is about $8 a qt at dealers (CCA discount) the only one readily avail. in the USA.....other such oils from europe are $40/qt or something I have heard. Computer goes about 12 to 15k - I change in between at 6 to 7 k. but only 7.5 qts - not 10.
