Default Milltek Exhaust Problems

Hi all,

I had my Milltek exhaust fitted at Performance Driven in Taunton like Mole & Muzzy & unfortunately have encountered some promlems...

Mine is a 2.4V6 Sport manual & Milltek informed me their exhaust developed for the 3.0 would fit just fine....

I had the exhaust fitted & it sounded great in a straight line & looked superb - very happy until I came to a corner.

The exhaust boxes bounce repeatedly off the underside of the car making a very loud noise outside that car. I went back to Performance driven to have the fault rectified & there has been no improvement. I believe that the boxes are much larger and heavier than the originals & with the original brackets, this causes the problem.

I've written to the guys at PD & rejected the exhaust under the SOGA and I've asked for the original to be refitted until I can find an alternative.

Gutted really, becaust the Milltek sounded great & the guys at PD are really helpful & knowledgeable. I guess I just got a bad exhaust or it genuinely doesn't fit the 2.4. Who knows?

Bad news....my exhaust has been fine. sorry to hear your bad experience. I am very surprised that the mounts etc for the 2.4 differ from the 3.0 as I would have thought that both standard exhausts were virtually identical and my have only differed on bore.

I hope that it is resolved for you soon.

I can't say if they are different or not - just a hunch....

Just gutting as my car is in the garage, as I don't want to damage it any more & I'm driving my girlfriend's 1.2 Polo - a real step down !

Whilst the Polo is brand new, it doesn't have air con (or a retractable roof!), so I'm boiling in this little car until I reach resolution. I'll let you know how I get on......
