Default Thx Paul & Mike! HotLanta missed an opportunity to get some wrench time at RingTec last night!

We got the major work done on the Green Hornet (VW Golf III in that bottle fly metalli green color)

- New axles L&R: grease up to my hairline
- Cup Kit completely installed: TPIWWP, but the front dropped like a Mk84 PGM over Baghdad. I didn't think it would actually ride at all. Got it all buttoned up, and Paul asked "did you clip that brake line back onto the strut body?" Dooh! Back up in the air, and a few moments with a 10mm wrench and we were done.

Things I learned:
- the value-added by an Indie Tech is IMMENSE. You may pay his flat rate, but you get all that expertise and you're off and running quick. No arguing with better rates, and short turn-arounds.
- Special Tools are priceless. Having access to these on a tech night is incredibly time-saving. We did all this work in < 4 hours. That included shooting the shiite.
- Having friends is priceless.

We're looking for ways to expand this tech night. The more the merrier: you get access to expertise, have the satisfaction of doing your own work, and get to hang out with great people, one of whom is a premier Audi tech and supporter of the Cherokee Audi Club!

Next time! Pics this weekend!

Default Yer welcome! Some thoughts...

This is a great time to get some of the little projects finished or quick mods...Cv boots, brakes, If you want to swap wheels or balance tyres..it is much easier(and safer)to do this with proper tools on a lift than on your knees and back in the driveway.

even regular maint. items like plugs and filters can be done here to help save a few pesos. and if you are not comfortable with taking something apart,I will show you how and you can put it back together. best of all, if you brake something, round out , or strip a bolt,or have a bolt seize on you, I can show you how to get out of the jam...

Next time we'll do a longer session and grill out, maybe a saturday..stay tuned atlanta.......
